Privacy Policy
Last Updated: August 10, 2026
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Plotbook collects, uses, processes, and protects personal data. It applies to Plotbook.io and the Plotbook mobile applications for iOS and Android (together, the “Services”).
Plotbook does not sell personal data.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
- Name
- Company details
- Payment metadata. On the web, payments are processed by Stripe. In the mobile apps, purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play and subscription status is synced through RevenueCat. We receive purchase and subscription history, not your full payment card details.
Usage Data
- IP address
- Device data
- Browser type
- Log activity
- Interaction analytics (screen views and feature usage)
- Search history, such as owner research queries and people searches, which is saved to your account so you can revisit past results
Mobile App Data
- Precise location. If you grant location permission and use the “locate me” feature, the mobile app accesses your device's location to center the map around you. Your location is used for this purpose only and is not stored on our servers or linked to your account. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.
- Push notification tokens. If you enable push notifications, we store a device push token linked to your account so we can deliver notifications, such as when an AI research job completes. You can disable push notifications at any time in your device settings.
Uploaded User Data
- Prospect lists
- Saved prospect profiles, notes, and tags
- Contact records
- CRM data
- Feedback and support submissions
3. Data Obtained from Third-Party Vendors
Plotbook displays data licensed from third-party providers including:
- Regrid
- Mapbox
- Apollo
- RocketReach
- Whitepages
These providers act as independent data controllers.
Plotbook does not control how these vendors originally collected their data.
4. How We Use Data
We process personal data to:
- Provide Services
- Improve platform performance
- Secure accounts
- Provide support
- Send service communications, including transactional emails (receipts, payment notices, trial reminders) and push notifications. You can opt out of marketing emails in Settings or via the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell user-uploaded proprietary data.
5. AI Processing
User inputs may be processed via Google Gemini AI services.
AI processing may occur on third-party infrastructure subject to their enterprise data handling terms.
We do not use proprietary uploaded user data to train public AI models.
6. Data Sharing
We may share data with:
- Cloud hosting providers
- Payment processors (Stripe on the web; the Apple App Store and Google Play, with RevenueCat, for mobile purchases)
- Analytics providers (PostHog)
- Email delivery providers
- Subprocessors under contract
We do not sell personal data.
We do not share proprietary uploaded user lists with enrichment vendors unless initiated by user query.
7. Data Retention & Account Deletion
We retain:
- Account data during active subscription
- Archived backups for limited operational periods
- Data required for tax or legal compliance
You can permanently delete your account at any time from Settings in the web app or the mobile app. Deletion removes your account data, saved profiles, search history, push tokens, and other personal data from our systems, subject to backup retention cycles and records we are legally required to keep.
8. Security Measures
We implement:
- Encryption in transit (TLS)
- Access control restrictions
- Role-based permissions
- Secure hosting environments
- Periodic infrastructure updates
No internet system guarantees absolute security.
9. Your Rights
Depending on jurisdiction (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), you may have rights to:
- Access
- Correction
- Deletion
- Data portability
- Objection
You can exercise your deletion right directly by deleting your account from Settings. For other requests, contact contact@plotbook.io.
10. Removal Requests for Non-Users
Plotbook displays information about individuals compiled from public records and licensed third-party data providers. You do not need a Plotbook account to request removal of information about you.
To request removal, email contact@plotbook.io with the subject line “Data Removal Request” and include your name and the information you want removed. We will process verified requests within 30 days and suppress the information from the Services. Because the underlying data comes from independent providers, you may also wish to contact them directly (Regrid, Apollo.io, RocketReach, Whitepages), and we will forward your request to the applicable provider where required by law.
11. International Transfers
Data may be processed in the United States.
Where applicable, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
12. Children
The Service is not directed to individuals under 18.
13. Changes
We may update this policy periodically. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
